  • This site is a simulator. No real money. No real wagers. No payouts.
  • Be reasonable: don't attack the service, don't scrape it into the ground, don't pretend it's a real bookmaker.
  • The site is provided as-is, with no warranty.

Scope

These Terms and Conditions cover Junkie Sports (junkiesportslive.com), a web-based simulator of sporting events with a play-money betting exchange, operated by Alessandro Dei Sacchi.

What this site is — and what it isn't

Every event displayed on the site is generated by a simulator: races, runners, results, statistics, and "news" articles are not real. The wagering exchange runs on play-money credits that:

  • have no cash value,
  • cannot be purchased, traded, or transferred between users,
  • cannot be redeemed, withdrawn, or converted into anything outside the site.

Junkie Sports is not a bookmaker, gambling operator, or financial service. No gambling licence is held because no gambling, as defined under any jurisdiction's gambling law, takes place here.

Provably fair

Every race is committed to before its lobby opens — the SHA-256 of the server seed plus the event id is published, and the seed itself is sealed until the race finishes. At finalize, the seed is revealed; feeding it back into the same planner reproduces the bit-exact timeline of positions, speeds, and obstacle crossings that the live broadcast played out. Any finished event has a /verify/<id> page that replays the race in your browser from those public inputs, so you don't have to trust this site's runtime: an independent implementation fed the same seed yields the same result.

Acceptance

By visiting or using the site these terms automatically apply to you. Please make sure you read them before using the site. If you don't agree, please close the tab.

Accounts

Accounts are free and optional — most of the site can be browsed anonymously. If you do create one, you're responsible for keeping your password confidential. You may delete your account at any time from the account page; deletion cascades to all associated orders, bets, and wallet transactions.

I reserve the right to suspend or delete accounts that are used to abuse the service.

Acceptable use

By using the site you agree not to:

  • Attempt to attack, overload, or otherwise damage the service or its infrastructure.
  • Scrape data at a rate that disrupts other users — the JSON API is open, please be polite.
  • Use the site to imply real-money gambling functionality to third parties.
  • Attempt to extract value from play-money credits by selling, trading, or otherwise transferring them outside the site.
  • Copy, modify, or redistribute the source code, trademarks, or assets in ways the licence doesn't permit.

Intellectual property

The simulator, the website, the rendered race artwork, and the trademarks (including the "Junkie Sports" name) belong to Alessandro Dei Sacchi. Where parts of the project are published under an open-source licence, the licence in the project's repository governs those parts and overrides this document for them.

Data licensing & embeds

The JSON feeds and WebSocket streams are made available for personal use and small-scale experimentation. For commercial integration or high-volume use see the API page.

Changes and updates

I reserve the right to change, add, or remove features at any time. I may also stop running the site entirely without prior notice. Upon any such termination, the rights granted under these terms end and you should stop using the site.

Liability

The site is provided as is, without warranty of any kind, express or implied. To the maximum extent permitted by applicable law, the operator shall not be liable for any direct, indirect, incidental, or consequential damages arising from your use of, or inability to use, the site — including downtime, lost data, or simulated wagers that didn't settle the way you hoped.

Because the site operates on play-money credits with no cash value, there is no financial loss for the operator to compensate.

Cancellation and refunds

There is no paid subscription and no way to spend real money on the site, so there is nothing to refund. If you'd like to stop using the site, simply close the tab; if you have an account and want to remove your data, delete the account from the account page.

Governing law

These terms are governed by the laws of Italy. Disputes that can't be resolved by writing me an email will be subject to the exclusive jurisdiction of the competent court in Italy.

Changes to these terms

I may update these Terms and Conditions from time to time. The effective date below will be revised when that happens; please review this page periodically.
